See what we are up to!
We will be going on a short hike around Chesterton, approx 1.5 miles. Please make sure your Cub is dressed appropriately for the weather. Patrols will be transported to an undisclosed location (about 10 km from the HQ), where they need to navigate their way back to the HQ. Hotdogs and hot chocolate available after the hike. For those choosing to stay overnight, a simple breakfast will be provided. No Catherine Campfire and some backwoods cooking For the last meeting of the year, patrols will compete in an epic wide games which will test their Scout skills, teamwork and creativity. We will also have a BBQ and finish off with a badge ceremony. Parents are warmly invited to join us this evening! New year new patrols! We will run some team building exercises and games for Scouts to get to know their patrols better. Patrol Leaders will also run a forum with their patrols to gather feedback on our programme. This week the Troop will split in halves. One group will enjoy an orienteering challenge in town whilst the other group will learn how to build a fire and some simple knife skills (cutting and whittling) – experienced Scouts may also try out wood carving. This week is very similar to last week’s meeting, with the groups swapped. Patrols will walk from the 26th HQ along the river to Jaws (Fish and Chip shop) in Milton. Similar to the last meeting, with the groups swapped: Scouts will begin their work on their chosen/allocated activity badge. They will spend a total of 3 nights on the same badge to fulfill the badge requirements. Some parts may have to be competed at home! 3 patrols will try out a range of crafts this evening, including paracord bracelets/lanyards/woggles, pyrography, glass/metal engraving and/or candle making. Scouts will carry on with their badge work. They will spend a total of 3 nights on the same badge to fulfill the badge requirements. Some parts may have to be competed at home! Milton Country Park Scouts will aim to finish their badge work this evening. Some parts may have to be competed at home!
