Same as last week – but swapping halves: Scouts will enjoy a series of wide games which are designed to make them better stalkers in town 🙂 Creative writing, pottery and other art and craft. Explorers will run some activities with a Japanese theme for half the troop. Same as last week, but swapping halves: Catch up on uncompleted badgework Scouts going on Easter camp will begin route planning for their overnight expedition. The rest of the troop will learn how to pitch a tent and play some games in the park Do a chemistry experiment to finish off the scientist badge! Sixers will run a talent show. Athletics badge Unfortunately only 1 Leader is available this week so we need to cancel this week’s meeting due to safety concerns. We will resume next Friday. We have booked the Milton Country Park lake for 3 water sport sessions (e.g. giant paddleboarding / kayaking). This is the first session of the season. The troop will split into halves this week. 3 patrols will go to Chesterton Rec and learn how to build a mini bridge, whilst the other 3 patrols will stay at the 26th HQ and enjoy some backwoods cooking. No Catherine This will be our third paddle sport session at Milton Country Park. Please sign up on OSM if your Scout would like to take part. This is essentially the same meeting as 16th May, with the groups swapped. Marquee take down (NIAB) and set up (Cambridge Sailing Club) – lots of help needed from parent helpers/older Scouts/Explorers. No Josie The troop will split into halves this week. 3 patrols will go to the nature reserve for a scavenger hunt, whilst the other 3 patrols will venture into town and race to complete a set of challenges. Scouts are encouraged to bring a camera (can be on their mobile phones) Short hike Patrols will be transported to an undisclosed location (about 10 km from the HQ), where they need to navigate their way back to the HQ. Hotdogs and hot chocolate available after the hike. For those choosing to stay overnight, a simple breakfast will be provided. No Catherine This is essentially the same meeting as 27th June, with the groups swapped. Campfire and some backwoods cooking For the last meeting of the year, patrols will compete in an epic wide games which will test their Scout skills, teamwork and creativity. We will also have a BBQ and finish off with a badge ceremony. Parents are warmly invited to join us this evening!

Half the troop will conduct a hike challenge to a destination after getting dropped off at an undisclosed location.
The other half will stay at the centre and go through some of their badge records, set personal challenges, and work on their cutting tools skills.
The remaining half will take part in some training exercises to prepare them for overnight expeditions (outdoor first aid, using Trangias/jet stoves).
