We plan to hold an in-person Annual General Meeting on Friday 29th September 2023.
Group and sectional reports, as well as financial accounts will be presented at the meting. We will also appoint the new trustee committee for the year ahead, also known at the Trustee Board. The AGM should take no longer than 30 minutes, and will be followed by a BBQ. Scouts will play a few outdoor games whilst the AGM is taking place.

All parents from both Groups are encouraged to join – please let Richard know or sign up on OSM ASAP if you plan to attend so we can get enough food for everyone!

The Group Trustee Board plays a vital role in the running of a Scout Group. As trustees, we make decisions and carry out administrative tasks to ensure that the best quality Scouting can be delivered to young people in the Group. It is important to the future of the Scout Group that we have a functioning Committee acting as trustees for the Group.

In order to make this happen, I ask that you consider volunteering as a member of the committee. We meet three to four times each year, including the AGM. Also, the Trustee Board help organise two to three fund-raising events a year, such as the Jumble Sale (pre-Covid), Xmas Draw, or erecting marquees. If you would like to know more about the role of the Group Trustee Board then the following web link is helpful: The Group Trustee Board | Scouts

We are desperately looking for volunteers to join the committee as parent members, or helping out with the following tasks:

1. assisting with weekly meetings – are you interested in teaching/sharing a skill (e.g. crafts, electronics, cookiing, bushcraft etc.) with our young people?

2. maintaining the meeting hall – from changing light bulbs to installing new doors. Are you up for some simple DIY?

3. putting up marquees to raise important funds

Please let Richard (chenyukshek@gmail.com) know if you are interested in helping out or if you have any questions.
